Monday Headlines: Vince Russo Is Finally Gone From TNA by Jacob LindseyThe internets were abuzz on Sunday with the news that Vince Russo has apparently been wished the best in his future endeavors by TNA. As with most TNA-related stories, I’m sure it’s the beginning of some sort of angle where Russo is fired, then returns, then turns heel on Hulk Hogan, then turns face on Eric Bischoff, then wins the TNA World title, then oh man I hope this doesn’t really happen.<!--more-->Later reports claimed that former WWE creative guy, Dave Lagana, had replaced Russo as the head of TNA’s creative department, but further information claimed this information was false. From Lords of Pain:
In regards to reports going around, Dave Lagana is not replacing Vince Russo as the head of TNA Creative. Lagana is at tonight's Against All Odds pay-per-view to help out, according to one top source within TNA. Lagana was hired by TNA to work on Ring Ka King and other projects, not the Impact brand but is at the pay-per-view tonight helping with backstage segments.Russo is not at the pay-per-view tonight and while some believe he is gone, nothing has been announced to the TNA roster or staff yet.
The story goes on to mention that Russo had been collaborating on show scripts with another guy, and they sent them to Bruce Pritchard, who is the head of the TNA creative team. Those scripts are then shown Eric Bischoff who shows them to Hulk Hogan who shows them to Dixie Carter who emails them to the writers of 24 who send them to Damon Lindelof who sends them to Judd Apatow who calls Michael Hayes to make racist jokes who finally shreds the script, thus giving TNA nothing to use for television. And that’s how Impact comes to your television each and every week.

In other news…

Steve Austin is currently filming a movie in Vancouver with Steven Seagal called Maximum Conviction. Austin says it’s going to be a good movie. He is a liar, but I can’t wait to see it. For those of you who have never seen a Steven Seagal movie, particularly anything since Under Siege, they are collectively the worst movies of all time. (Lords of Pain)In other movie news, there are rumors that Beth Phoenix is being considered to play Wonder Woman in an upcoming film about the classic super heroine. I’ve also heard that Chyna, Lucy Lawless, the mom from Married With Children, the chick from Haywire, and Jared Leto are all being considered. (NoDQ)Apparently, Bret Hart has been approached to be part of a project to track his family back to the beginning of time. All he had to do was submit a DNA sample, his mother’s maiden name, the last four digits of his Social Security number, and $1,800 for research costs. (SEScoops)Alberto Del Rio supposedly hates The Miz and everyone else in the WWE locker room, according to a radio interview he did a couple of days ago. Of course, the interview on The Game was totally out-of-character and not at all intended to promote his heel persona. Sometimes I hate wrestling “news.” (CagesideSeats)That’s all for today. I’ll be back on Thursday with a review of The Rock’s new movie, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Have a good week.-JacobFollow me on Twitter!
