SharpShooter Cast: All Time Great Wrestling Video Games
UPDATE 11/13/13 12:00PM PT: At a few points during the podcast, a loud screeching noise can be heard. These instances last about three seconds, and sound AWFUL. I'm trying to figure out the issue, as the noise is NOT typical background noise that the microphone picks up. And these screeches aren't found in the original MP3 file. My guess is that there were some glitches when uploading the file to our host.
We apologize for the sound, and ensure you that it will never happen again. All podcasts (after uploading) will be listened to before posting to TJR, and deleted if there are similar issues.
Welcome to this week's episode of The SharpShooter Cast. TJR Wrestling's only weekly, twin hosted, wrestling podcast. Jesus once had this to say about the podcast:
It's the greatest thing ever. Seriously, those Briggs brothers are so darned charming!
With the release of WWE 2K14, our interest in wrestling-based video games is higher than ever. Besides our usual coverage of Monday Night Raw, we take a look at some of the best wrestling video games of the past.
And before you give us grief, yes, we forgot to mention Fire Pro Wrestling. But that's simply because we're lazy Americans who live in a bubble and demand that everyone conform to our own culture! Did you really expect more from us?
Seriously though, Fire Pro Wrestling for the GameBoy Advance is the greatest wrestling game ever made that I constantly forget to mention. Sorry guys.
But before we go any further, we have to mention that Aaron and I were guests on The Wrestling Show! With Sleazy and The Fatman this week. Be sure to keep an eye on their blog The Wrestling Show! for our guest appearance. We had a lot of fun chatting with Sleazy, and look forward to having him and The Fatman on our show next week.
Now, on to the show!
This week's episode covers:
- Video game talk: What is the best wrestling video game ever made? - What it would take to make the perfect WWE video game. - The seriousness of head injuries such as concussions in sports and sports entertainment. - The story of Tom's one and only concussion, which took place in a church. - SharpShooter Cast vs. Iraq. - A live review and analysis of Raw in Manchester, England. - An idea on how to revitalize and restore the Intercontinental Championship. - Can professional wrestling be considered art? - Tom and Aaron confuse black wrestlers. - Antonio Cesaro RULEZ! - Final score for this week's Raw. - Will there ever be another Iron Man Match like Bret vs Shawn?
