Becky Lynch Reveals Current WWE Contract May Be Her Last

Becky Lynch discusses her WWE future and current contract during WWE Unreal

Becky Lynch arguably is one of WWE’s greatest stars ever. The Irish Superstar has made history throughout her career and is considered one of the best of her generation. A longtime locker room leader, she has long been a pivotal presence in the WWE women’s division, even as a new generation of female talent has begun to assert itself.

As such, it has been reported that Lynch took approximately a year off wrestling following the expiration of her WWE contract in mid-2024. That hiatus, she said, gave her time to relax and focus on personal priorities and outside projects. Even with the break, she never considered leaving the business for good. Upon her return, Lynch indicated that she was still passionate about wrestling and felt more driven than ever.

Thinking Beyond Wrestling

Yet Lynch knows her days as an in-ring performer are numbered. With her husband, Seth Rollins, and the rest of her family, she has created a life outside WWE. And that reality has taken her to a place where she must think hard about the future and how much longer she is willing to perform at this, the highest plane. Lynch has not been shy about managing her love of wrestling and caring for home life.

During the first episode of season two of WWE: Unreal, Lynch addressed her current WWE contract and its significance. “This is probably it. This is the final run. This is the final contract. The time off, it was maybe gonna be forever. I don’t think I knew. I was kind of so content,” Lynch said.

Balancing Motherhood

She also spoke honestly about the emotional challenges of being both a performer and a mother. “I love working. I love getting out in front of the crowd. I love wrestling… but there’s also that hard part of, ‘Now mom’s got to go to work.’ That guilt is always hard. I felt like when I’d come back, she was angry at me. Like I didn’t—I hadn’t had enough time with her.”

Lynch has stuck around WWE in early ’26, and she was the subject of a bit of kerfuffle over a match with Maxxine Dupri recently. With questions remaining about her long-term future, her words sounded as if this might have been a last ride. For now, Becky Lynch finds herself performing the same type of in-ring intensity that has been her calling card.
