Chris Jericho Unlikely for WWE’s Canada Shows This Weekend

Chris Jericho poses during a public appearance amid speculation about a possible WWE return during upcoming Canada shows.

WWE’s return to Canada has sparked fresh speculation among fans. The company is set to run Friday Night SmackDown in Montreal, Quebec, followed by Saturday Night’s Main Event. With WWE back north of the border, rumors quickly picked up regarding a possible appearance by Chris Jericho.

Jericho’s name has been circulating heavily in recent weeks. The free concert is a part of this year’s National Association of Music Merchants conference, the Namm Show. PWInsider adds that Jericho is slated to be in California the rest of the weekend.

However, new backstage reports appear to cool those rumors. According to PWInsider, Jericho is not expected to be part of WWE’s plans for this weekend. The report notes that Jericho is currently advertised for a separate commitment in Southern California.

California Commitments Confirmed

Jericho is scheduled to appear Friday at the Anaheim Arena for JAMM Night. The free concert is part of this year’s National Association of Music Merchants gathering. PWInsider states that Jericho is expected to remain in California for the remainder of the weekend.

Because of that schedule, his presence in Montreal appears unlikely. Unless there is a last-minute change to his plans, Jericho will be on the West Coast while WWE runs its Canadian events. That reality makes a surprise appearance at either SmackDown or Saturday Night’s Main Event improbable.

Fan Speculation Continues

The state of affairs hasn’t exactly stopped fans from drawing conclusions. Jericho has remained close to WWE during his career. He is still an iconic figure in the company’s history. Whenever an international tour is on, his prospective return becomes a matter of attraction.

Surprises Still Unlikely

WWE has also leaned into surprise appearances in recent years. That approach has conditioned fans to expect the unexpected. Even so, current information suggests expectations should be tempered for this weekend.

For now, the focus remains on WWE’s Canadian shows themselves. SmackDown in Montreal and Saturday Night’s Main Event are expected to deliver major storyline developments. While Jericho may not be involved, the events still carry significant weight on the road ahead.

Until plans change, Chris Jericho’s rumored WWE return appears to remain on hold. Fans will need to wait longer to see if and when “Le Champion” steps back into a WWE ring.
