AEW World Champion MJF doesn’t show any sign of slowing his roll as the most provocative personality in All Elite Wrestling. MJF called Busted Open Radio in a surprise appearance to discuss AEW and the parade of contenders coming after his championship, this after he appeared that Wednesday night on AEW Dyanmite (Check out video of his call below). The spotlight was also turned to an unlikely name in an exchange between the two.
Nemeth Enters Picture
While speaking with the show’s hosts, MJF directly addressed Busted Open co-host and current TNA Wrestling star Nic Nemeth, a former WWE World Champion. In doing so, MJF openly suggested a potential AEW World Title defense against Nemeth, placing him alongside some of AEW’s top contenders.
“Listen, if you watched AEW last night, you realise the tale of the tape is this: I’m the greatest wrestler on God’s green earth. I have the championship that everybody wants. Samoa Joe wants it, Hangman (Adam Page) wants it, Swerve (Strickland) wants it, Brody King wants it, the list goes on, ya mama wants it, everybody wants it. So enough with the music talk. Get to reviewing my show. All Elite Wrestling’s on a tear right now, and also, (Nic) Nemeth, whenever you find your balls, let me know, I’d love to wrestle you for the title as well. Good day, sir.”
Nemeth Reacts Publicly
Nemeth responded with visible surprise but did not shy away from the idea. While stressing that his current focus remains on the TNA World Championship, Nemeth admitted the prospect of facing MJF caught his attention.
“Wow, what a call. I was just offered an AEW Title shot… I’m really focused, surprisingly, on the TNA World Title tonight, possibly even, but wow, AEW Champion, especially with all those, you got Swerve and Hangman and Joe all going after MJF, and he’s thinking about me. I’m on board. I like that. I always wondered if he could hang in the ring. We’ll find out one day, I guess.”
The exchange adds another layer of intrigue to MJF’s reign. AEW’s main event picture is already crowded, and the mention of Nemeth only fuels crossover speculation.
MJF Title History
On December 27, 2025 at World End pay-per-view event, MJF regained the AEW World Championship. He then cashed in his Casino Gauntlet contract to defeat Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page in a four-way match. MJF previously held the title for 406 days after defeating Jon Moxley at Full Gear 2022, losing it to Samoa Joe Worlds End 2023.
