WWE 2K26 has been confirmed by publisher 2K, the newest instalment of its WWE series being developed by Visual Concepts. The title is set to be released on March 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam at the beginning of a new generation with “expanded functionality” as well as platform availability.
Standard Edition Packaging Current World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, who carries the monumental title defiantly, is shown here atop WWE’s Standard Edition packaging. Punk was already on the cover of WWE ’13 and now appears as the centerpiece of the box art for WWE 2K26’s Showcase mode. “As a kid, I’d never dreamed of seeing myself on the cover of a video game. Now I join a very exclusive group of WWE Superstars who have done it twice,” Punk said.
Game Special Editions
The game will be released in four editions. The King of Kings Edition pays homage to WWE Hall of Famer and Chief Operating Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. The Attitude Era Edition commemorates one of the greatest eras in WWE history with five of the biggest names in this class: Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Undertaker, Kane, and Trish Stratus. An all-new Monday Night War Edition provides the latest WWE vs. WCW with the late 90s roster, featuring Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Scott hall and others.
Record-Breaking Wrestler Roster
WWE 2K26 includes a roster of over 400 wrestlers, the biggest one in franchise history. It mixes current RAW, SmackDown, and NXT Superstars with Legends and Hall of Famers. Newcomers and returning wrestlers include Rusev and Rey Fénix, as well as familiar faces like Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, John Cena, and Liv Morgan.
New Match Types
Four new match types include I Quit, Inferno, Dumpster, and Three Stages of Hell. Gameplay upgrades include revamped stamina systems, enhanced physics, intergender matches across modes, and expanded interactive environments.“WWE 2K26 introduces several new community-requested match types and gameplay features,” said Greg Thomas, President at Visual Concepts. “The team focused on refining in-ring action while expanding creative freedom.”
Several modes have received major updates, including MyGM, MyRISE, Universe, MyFACTION, and The Island, which is now available on all platforms. WWE 2K26 is available for pre-order now, with early access included in premium editions.
