Brock Lesnar shares his thoughts on how John Cena reacted to his WWE exit in 2004

Lesnar on Cena Reaction

Lesnar said, John Cena was extremely pleased (that I left WWE in 2004). He was responding to comments of a co-host who stated that Cena was benefiting because he left. Lesnar added on, I only signed a new contract a year before I quit. It was a 10 year deal, 20 million assured and I am 22 years old…

The agreement was a massive investment that WWE placed in the young star. Lesnar was rapidly gaining prominence and treated as one of the pillars of the company future. But when he left it was an internal shock.

Lesnar Defends Exit

Lesnar said that the company was quite chapped at me then as they had invested much on me, and now I understand that. Nonetheless, he holds onto his decision regardless of that tension. Had I remained there, I would not be what I am to-day either. I am glad I possessed sufficient intelligence to get away. But, everything turned out.”

Lesnar also ventured into professional football and mixed martial arts, after leaving but at a different direction in his career. He later went back to WWE in 2012 becoming even more of an international star.

WrestleMania 42 Showdown

Today, ahead of WrestleMania 42, Lesnar has continued to be one of the main personalities. This will be against Oba Femi who has recently been gaining momentum against him. Their competition is still on the rise going to the biggest event of all, which gives Lesnar another mark to his career.
