AJ Styles Speaking about a possible WWE Comeback
WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles has given new ideas on his future in professional wrestling, including possibly returning to the ring once again. Styles tried to make his last WWE appearance against GUNTHER in the 2026 Royal Rumble, but fans shouldn’t rule out another appearance from a legendary Superstar.
During an interview on “Insight with Chris Van Vliet,” Styles spoke on retirement and the pain he felt when he had to close the door.
Styles Believes One More Match Is Always Possible
In the discussion, Styles confessed that despite retirement, there is always one last time of being able to come back into the world of wrestling. He didn’t say when or if it would happen, but said it was always a possibility.
We’re given one comeback per match, I’ve said this before and it’ll be said again, Style said. I’m not saying that it’s going to happen, I’m just saying, usually it’s granted, never say never.
WWE fans took to Twitter and other message boards in droves to talk about the comments immediately, many continuing to hope that “The Phenomenal One” will still make one final appearance in a WWE ring.
Supporting His Son in His Beginning Career Of Wrestling
Styles has not competed actively with wrestling, but he is still very involved in the sport. He shared he’s been working with his 19-year-old son, Avery Jones, at the WWE school and that Avery recently got his first taste of pro wrestling at a GA independent event.
Styles also said that when Avery was successful, that could’ve encouraged other family members to pursue a wrestling career.
In fact, my oldest son, I think he got bit by the bug a little bit seeing his brother come out on his debut,” Styles explained. I think maybe there’s a possibility that sometime down the road, you watch them up there tagging together, after baseball… I wouldn’t be surprised if my daughter got in to it, she watches wrestling all the time.

Styles also shared he had spoken with his children about the possibility of him working with them, during a meeting with Stephanie McMahon. If the timing is right, then he would be open to it,” he said.
Until then, AJ Styles is still working to support his family, and has continued to enjoy life outside of the WWE weekly broadcast. But his recent remarks indicate that the end might not be the end. But, if the right opportunity arises, WWE fans may still see one more historic bout from one of the greatest performers of his time.
