Rhodes Loses Title
The beginning of the year 2026 has been spilled with outrageous events which have been dispatched to the fans of WWE. Most evidently, perhaps, Cody Rhodes had lost the WWE World Title match to Drew McIntyre the previous January 9 episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Berlin. Being a passionate individual who wanted to go back to the top of WWE, McIntyre could achieve this later on after lamenting on the missed opportunities in the past year.
Orton Sparks Mania Speculation
As WrestleMania 42 was almost about to occur, McIntyre was waiting impatiently to discover who he would be matched with. One of the occasions where Randy Orton clinched victory in a dramatic manner was in February Elimination Chamber in Chicago where he was the underdog. This immediately created a thought on the possible battle between “The Viper” and “The Scottish Warrior” in the biggest event at WWE.

However, in more recent times SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis has announced that McIntyre will defend his World Title against the American Nightmare, Cody Rhodes, this Friday. This will be a title of the line that will prove more interesting to both fans as well as the analysts.
Rhodes-Orton Dream Match
Rhodes is likely to win over McIntyre and be a champion once again according to reports by PW Elite. In the event of such happening, then a dream match between Rhodes and Orton at the WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas is almost guaranteed. This does not mean that WWE management has intentions to punish McIntyre because he has been performing excellently in the past few months. It is, however, the opportunity to organize a high-profiled Rhodes-Orton confrontation and this opportunity is too tempting to be missed.

One of the goals of his future career that Randy Orton, the so-called Legend Killer, has publicly stated is to have 15 world titles in his hands before the end of his career. This would be another step in making his name in the history of WWE. It is also amazing that Orton is the youngest winner to become World champion in the history of WWE.
With the WrestleMania 42 coming near, the scene is now set to see an exciting title feud which would probably see the peaks of the careers of both Rhodes and Orton and fans are now eagerly looking forward to every twist as they gear-up to the Showcase of the Immortals.
