Priest Critiques WWE Unreal
WWE Superstar Damian Priest has also given his own personal opinion on the WWE Netflix series WWE: Unreal and confessed to not personally enjoying it. The series provides an behind-the-scenes perspective of the WWE in its decision-making process and the fans receive the clarification of how storylines and matches are produced. It has been adopted by some of the WWE stars, and this is not something that others are convinced about, and Priest is one of them.
Priest Shares Old-School View
In the speech to the Sal Licata Show, Priest said, No, I will ever be a little old-school with them. The rabbit out of the hat we have already seen. As, we know, but I cannot think, we are doing it- we are not making movies. There is the other- when you have watched what goes behind the scenes of how a movie was recorded since by the time that is released, that actor or the stars of that movie has already gone to play another role. We’re still us. I’m still Damien Priest. I guess it takes away a bit of the lore, you see, the fact that we are these characters all year round, I simply do not know.
Priest Prefers Traditional Viewing

I believe you miss something of that. When you look at the other face you lose it somehow because you feel the same way it makes you feel emotionally. This by itself in an interview is now doing the same to me as well. It is the identical issue, and as you know, it is what it is. Like we live in a different times and I can fully realize the purpose behind us doing so. In me, there is something a bit old school that does not like it. Like I’ve never watched it. I never even saw any of the seasons. I would just want to watch what I believe to be a show as a fan and then watch that and get bored of a character. (h/t Fightful)
Priest Defends Character Mystique
The thoughts expressed by Priest are those of most wrestlers who believe that revealing the inner secrets of WWE may at times strip their characters of the mystique. He does not desire the audience to see the decisions behind the scenes but instead watch the plot development on the screen.
In the same interview, Damian Priest discussed his experience of spending his time backstage last year in one of the smaller schedules with WWE. His considerations denote that even stars, the best in the company, cannot concur on how the content of wrestling is made and developed.
The comments of Priest as WWE: Unreal continues to release new seasons on Netflix underscore the argument being argued by the talent of WWE between telling the story behind the scenes or continuing the magic that the fans require in the ring.
