Dominik Mysterio Pulled From WWE RAW After Injury Scare

Mysterio Missing RAW

Few days back, people were shocked when Mysterio destroyed The Judgment Day. He also threw Finn Balor out of the group in the scene which was a very big change in the group. Meanwhile, Mysterio had also travelled to Mexico to defend a big title.

Brutal Title Defense

Mysterio was involved in a very violent AAA Mega Champion against El Hijo del Vikingo on the weekend. He defended the title, though, with a worrying incident. At one point of the violent scenes in the game, a steel chair was thrown at him on the head.

Concussion Protocol Update

This apparently is the side of his head that Mysterio was siding during the competition but that was shot after the competition was over. Mysterio was later placed on concussion protocol as Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer explained. The medical decision supposedly made WWE remove him on RAW at the eve of the show.

WWE had promoted a match between Mysterio and Dragon Lee prior to the airing. The card was however altered following the medical situation being revealed. Instead fans had to watch Dragon Lee versus Penta in a substitute game.

The change was not done as one of the twists of the plot. It was just a precaution exercise. The decision by WWE officials to leave Mysterio off was to avoid further damage particularly when the major events were near.

Recovery Timeline Unclear

Already no time schedule of his coming back has been established. Concussion protocol is a procedure which consists of a number of phases of testing and recovery. Medical clearance must be given before a wrestler can be allowed to go back in the ring. WWE has become significantly more accountable in regard to head injuries in recent years.

Judgment Day Fallout

The lack of Mysterio is also another plot twist that arrives at a very critical time. He has already said publicly last week of the ousting of Balor in The Judgment Day. He said that the camp had lost its unity and claimed that Balor should have been aware of the action. Mysterio also praised JD McDonagh as the one who delivered the final blow saying it was a long overdue affair in the team.
