Professional wrestler Joe Hendry stands confidently in the ring with his arms raised, holding the NXT Championship belt over his shoulder. He has short, light brown hair and a beard, and is wearing blue and white wrestling gear.

WWE NXT has been crowned with a new champion. NXT on The CW February 3 episode saw Joe Hendry win a high-stakes Ladder Match to win the vacated NXT Championship. The main match of the show was the title match that included a loaded card with the competitors.

The participants in the match were Ricky Saints, Joe Hendry, Keanu Carver, Jackson Drake, Sean Legacy, Shiloh Hill and Dion Lennox. Every competitor had his or her time to shine but when it actually came to it, it was Hendry who was climbing the ladder and became the champion. The victory was a significant milestone to his WWE career.

Hendry Reflects on Title

After the event, Hendry came to Busted Open After Dark with Bully Ray and spoke about the emotional meaning of his first WWE title. I have a hundred different feelings. There is so much to tell me and I will strive to get it out here, logical and yet, in my life we have other things, other things to accomplish, other things to struggle with and this particular championship means so much to me.

Hendry Honors Training Journey

Hendry clarified that the title symbolizes the months of effort in the WWE Performance Center. This is what the previous six, eight months here on a full-time basis at the Performance Center has meant to me. I decided to come here to WWE, I decided to come and train at NXT. He underlined the high-level everyday workload and the necessity to increase his training and competencies.

He also touched upon the spiritual issue of development and tolerance. Hendry told how he experiences frustration when everything starts to fall into place. You cannot leave this place at the P.C. every day without getting better and that was my sole aim.

Hendry observed that the previous years were associated with the development of recognition, whereas the stage was associated with the development of being a championship-level performer. He named the accomplishment as an honor and claimed that he was honored to be a representative of the NXT brand.

This is the first title that Hendry has won in WWE. Before joining WWE, he was the TNA World Champion with 126 days. His victory today puts him into the list of most distinguished winners in the NXT Championship.
