Kris Statlander has had a horrific experience of her time defending her AEW Women world championship at AEW WrestleDream 2025. The heavyweight demonstrated that she even passed out during the middle of her fight with the undefeated Toni Storm which turned an already interesting title fight into a heart attack.
Statlander Title Defense
Statlander took on the AEW Women world championship at the All Out event on September 20 in a fatal four-way fight and won. This was one of the achievements in her career. One month after that she made her first title match in WrestleDream. Her rival was a former champion Toni Storm. It was not just pressure in the match since Storm was keen on winning the title that she had lost.
Statlander Faints In-Ring

Statlander told the information about the event that took place at the end of the match during an interview with TMZ Sports. In the middle of the game…that was it. Toni (Storm), she assigns me the chicken wing and, you know, it is right after I beat up her to the title. Thus, it is evident that she is trying to win it back and I actually fainted in my game. But I went back to you et once. It was weird. You see you have never been there, strangled out. It was as if, you see it was such a strange, you are sort of falling asleep, but somehow you are awake and then get back to you and all is just a reverse fade to black basically and then it was like, give it the go, I can no longer be here.
Statlander Retains Title

Statlander returned to himself quite quickly, though there was a momentary short blackout, which resulted in his resuming the match. She still retained her championship. The revelation exposes the physical harm that the performers face in the ring. What is safe in a controlled environment can just come out of control in a few seconds.
Elsewhere in the same interview, Statlander also discussed the worst bump she has ever gotten in her life, which likewise points out the roughness that has to be displayed at the very summit of All Elite wrestling.
