Rollins Slams MITB
One of the most iconic stipulations that were reveled as a shocking revelation of WWE is Seth Rollins. Despite the issue that he has built a part of his legacy on it, Rollins quotes that he hates the Money in the Bank ladder match. Addressing season two of WWE Unreal, the ex-World Heavyweight Champion gave his straightforward opinions about why the anarchy battle worsens him.
Rollins Voices Frustration
According to Rollins, he despises a Money in the Bank match, but he has great producers. I hate them, I hate them, because as an actor I hate them that it is not you and one more and a referee. You have such a number of ladders, you introduce the element of complete danger. They must all be quick, timing, everything, on a safety point of view, and on a story telling point of view.
Chaos Raises Risks
The match is made especially challenging, according to Rollins, because of the unpredictability of the structure of the match. Unlike the old-fashioned singles bouts, The Money in the Bank includes a number of participants and higher ladders around the ring. This is an environment which contributes to the risk factor and there is little to no room to go wrong. The fact that one has to be more precise in timing becomes more significant. So does faith in everybody involved.
Historic MITB Success
In a way of irony, Rollins is one of the biggest Money in the Bank winners in the history of WWE. The briefcase has been under his hands twice and he has succeeded in cashing in both times. His first cash-in happened when, at WrestleMania 31, he got involved in the main event of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns to win the WWE Championship. The incident is traditionally deemed as one of the most infamous ones in the history of WrestleMania. He has also done the same at SummerSlam where he cashed in as CM Punk emerged the winner of the World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Gunther.
The personality that Rollins has is also his realization that he is opinionated. He termed himself as being a performer who is control oriented. Frustrations can follow in a case where matches are unpredictable. This was pronounced particularly in the 2025 edition of the bout.
However, the history of Rollins shows that being successful and at the same time uncomfortable is possible. He may not be fond of the format but Money in the Bank has definitely made the career of Hall of Fame size.
