And The Rock’s name has been mentioned as someone who could make a splash at WrestleMania 43. Now, his latest remarks have fueled speculation still further. WWE also has confirmed that WrestleMania 43 is set for Saudi Arabia in 2027. It’s also the first time that WrestleMania will not be taking place in North America.
That announcement immediately sparked rumors of legendary names returning.
Global Star Power
The Rock quickly became the top name mentioned.
He remains one of WWE’s biggest global stars.
Despite not being a full-time performer, his drawing power is unmatched.
The Rock, who is now 53, has since become Hollywood-heavy. His portrayal in the 2025 biopic The Smashing Machine was well-receivedioctl. Wrestling, though, is never far from him.
The WWE legend spoke with RaffiTalks about several topics.
That included WrestleMania heading to Saudi Arabia.
He was asked directly about talks with Saudi officials.
“I can tell you that I’m excited for the brand of WrestleMania,” The Rock said.
“I’m excited for the Kingdom because that is a big show.”
“And I’m also excited for our athletes to able to participate in an event like that and that is a global event.”
Return Rumors Intensify
He also addressed the negotiations more directly.
“In terms of the conversations I’ve been having… It’s all good, it will always be good.”
The last time we saw the Rock wrestle was at WrestleMania 40.
He was joined by Roman Reigns in the main event of night one. They won against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.
Since then, his WWE appearances have been limited.
He popped up in John Cena’s “heel” angle. But he was not at WrestleMania 41. Fans now are guessing that they’re aiming for WrestleMania 43.
Speculation has shifted toward his possible opponent.
Roman Reigns stands out as the clear favorite.
Their Bloodline connection makes the story natural.
The Rock previously said he would be “honored” to face Reigns.
He added he would want Reigns’ hand raised afterward.
With The Rock, if he comes back that could be his last match. Once he had intended to retire at WrestleMania 29.
That plan changed after two more matches.
A historic farewell may now await.
Saudi Arabia could host the biggest WrestleMania yet.
