Trey Miguel is officially back where many fans believe he belongs. On the most recent episode of Thursday Night iMPACT that aired live on AMC from Albuquerque, New Mexico, TNA Wrestling reports that Miguel has renewed his contract with the promotion. The revelation was made in dramatic fashion when Miguel interrupted the high-risk Feast or Fired match, and snagged briefcase number four. The contents of that briefcase are set to be revealed next week, leaving plenty of intrigue surrounding his immediate future.
Miguel’s return closes a turbulent chapter that followed his brief run with AEW. After signing alongside his Rascalz teammates, only Myron Reed, Zachary Wentz, and Dezmond Xavier appeared on AEW television. Miguel later confirmed he was released just days after signing. He subsequently announced a short hiatus from wrestling, though that break ended sooner than expected.
TNA Roots Run Deep
TNA Wrestling has long been considered Miguel’s professional home. He and The Rascalz first debuted with the promotion in 2018, following several tryout matches the year before. By 2020, the group’s departure was heavily teased and eventually confirmed, complete with an emotional locker room send-off. While Xavier and Wentz later signed with WWE, Miguel remained a free agent.
Career-Defining Rivalry
And that independence paved the way for a surprising TNA return in 2021. This immediately brought Miguel into a heated war with Sami Callihan who mocked him for not being able to do it without his teammates. The rivalry helped elevate Miguel to greater heights that resulted in two runs as X-Division Champion and a rediscovered identity as singles competitor.
Momentum continued in 2023 when Wentz returned and reunited with Miguel to capture the TNA World Tag Team Titles. The full Rascalz reunion followed in 2025 when Reed and Xavier returned. Now, in 2026, Miguel once again finds himself charting his own path.
Uncertain Road Ahead
With his contract secured and a mysterious briefcase in hand, Trey Miguel’s future is full of possibility. Whether it holds championship gold or something far more dangerous remains to be seen.
