WWE is yet to grow its mainstream presence with its increased collaboration with Netflix. The deal, which will start early in 2025, has already changed the way fans already consume WWE programming. The platform has become a significant change in distribution because Monday Night Raw is now available on it. The deal is said to be worth more than a billion dollars.
Outside the weekly programming, the alliance is providing WWE with new opportunities in other sports. Already, NBA, NFL, boxing, and UFC athletes have entered into the realm of WWE content. This week, WWE will also have a significant exposure with a big baseball event.
WWE at MLB
Baseball is a sport that is played by major leagues that officially begin on Wednesday evening. The opening game is going to be streamed on Netflix first time. The game will be between the New York Yankees and the San Francisco Giants. WWE is projected to feature prominently in the broadcast and this will further merge sports and entertainment.
The crossover emphasizes the approach that WWE has to broader audiences. It is a mainstream PR that comes with the presence in such a high profile sporting event. It is also enhancing the presence of WWE beyond the conventional wrestling mediums.
WrestleMania Build-Up
In the meantime, the episode of Raw on this week is going to be a loaded show. The Usos will be involved in tag team action. Brock Lesnar will also feature after the shocking events of the past week. Lesnar had earlier given an open challenge to WrestleMania 42 when Oba Femi attacked him. The fans are now waiting to know what Lesnar will say.
