WWE is also allegedly taking contingency measures to be used during WrestleMania 43 with the ever increasing geopolitical tension building up in the Middle East. The show is now booked to be hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the first time in the history of the event to be hosted outside of North America. Nevertheless, insecurity in the region has been an issue of concern to the business.
Riyadh Hosting Uncertainty
Riyadh was announced to be the host in September 2025. It came after Saudi Arabia entered into an increasing relationship with WWE under its Vision 2030 campaign. The ambitious plans notwithstanding, the recent news that surrounds the United States and the Iranian region has cast doubt on whether the event on April 2027 will indeed happen as planned.
Reportedly, WWE officials are already debating about alternatives. Indianapolis and New Orleans have become the most successful places in case relocation is required. These cities are well connected with WWE and have good record of hosting big events.
Indianapolis Contingency Plan
PW Insider reported WWE managers have been considering contingency plans on WrestleMania 43. Indianapolis seems to be a rational choice. In 2024, the city had already had a multi-year contract with WWE. That is a package that will consist of hosting a future WrestleMania and other high-end events.
New Orleans is also not far behind. The city was originally supposed to host the WrestleMania but Las Vegas was once again chosen to host in 2026. This is a solid backup option because of this prior commitment.
In the meantime, the WWE program in Saudi Arabia is still under consideration. According to Post wrestling Night of champions remains an internal event that is planned to take place in June 2026. Nevertheless, the pending war might affect such plans too.
WrestleMania’s Global Impact
The largest yearly event by WWE is still WrestleMania. It has then been likened to the Super Bowl in terms of magnitude and attention. Any interruption to its location would be a big decision to the company.
In the meantime, WWE remains on top of the situation. There are no official changes declared. Nevertheless, there are back-office preparations to indicate that the company is equipped to take action when required.
