WWE 2K26 Leak Teases Return of Classic Match Additions

WWE 2K26 Leak, Univers & Attitude Eras, New Match Types & More As we get closer to WWE 2K26 news is beginning to find its way out and a new leak has made it’s way online that teases something big will be coming back while several match types are expected to return for WWE 2K26 as well receiving a major update as well – bringing back some old favorites that have not been seen in years. These are no small changes; they evidence a purposeful change in the direction of the franchise, finally acknowledging that fans want more variety and stormier match stipulations.

Per Insider Gaming insider Mike Straw, WWE 2K26 will include four major match additions in total, including one new stipulation and three old favorites. Perhaps most exciting about the returning match types is the I Quit match, which has not been in WWE 2K since WWE 2K14 a decade ago. Gamers can also enjoy the return of a fiery Inferno match which is set to blaze bright for the first time in that era as players have to get their rivals on fire to win.

Return of 3 Stages of Hell

3 Stages of Hell match, which hasn’t been featured in the series since the SmackDown vs. Raw era is also one of the more classic matches making a comeback as well. In this type of match a competitor can select three stipulations independently of one another in the spirit of two-out-of-three falls, testing both stamina and evolution.

Alongside these long-missing classics, WWE 2K26 is introducing the Dumpster match, a new addition to the series. What those match mechanics will include are yet indeterminate, though it will presumably involve object-based features similar to the Casket match.

WWE 2K26 Reflects Real-World Trends

These updates are also emblematic of WWE’s long-form storytelling moving into real world programming, and how much that has started to be overloaded with stipulations. This is evidenced by repeated occurrence of matches such as 3 Stages Of Hell, a staple on WWE TV and the sort of ‘update’ that wouldn’t be out of place from update to WWE 2K26. Additionally, rumors surrounding an increased Attitude Era presence in the game further support the return of these high-stakes, spectacle-driven match types.

Finally, the leak also confirms the return of Intergender matches, which debuted in the previous installment. This time, however, they will be available in more modes, including MyFACTION, expanding their role in the game.
