The last time fans watched ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin enter a WWE ring was at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. Austin was part of night two of the event at Allegiant Stadium. He called out the weekend’s attendance, and the crowd erupted in surprise.

One night earlier, Austin added another milestone to his legendary career. He accepted his second WWE Hall of Fame honor. Austin and Bret Hart were inducted into the new Hall of Fame wing. Their Submission Match from WrestleMania 13 in Chicago earned the recognition. That bout remains one of the most influential matches in WrestleMania history.

The match also marked a turning point in Austin’s career. It helped launch him into superstardom. Austin soon became the defining figure of the Attitude Era. He would then go on to retire after his loss to The Rock at WrestleMania 19.

That development has raised numerous questions. WrestleMania is headed back to Las Vegas. The city is in the vicinity of Austin’s home in Nevada. WrestleMania 43 is also scheduled for Saudi Arabia. Major names are reportedly being considered for that event.

Austin appearing in any role would generate major interest. For even more intrigue, a potential match. Some common dream opponents that are tossed around include CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Brock Lesnar.
Austin was previously also pitched for WrestleMania 40. That included a match with Roman Reigns. He was also discussed as the potential finisher for the Reigns versus Cody Rhodes. Scheduling issues prevented the plan. The Undertaker filled the surprise role instead.
