CM Punk And Cody Rhodes Share Unexpected Moment
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes put on a show for WWE fans this Sunday in Bakersfield, California. The SummerSlam rivals had an unexpected and light-hearted moment with Danhausen after the main event which has already gone viral on social media.
Although Punk and Rhodes are set to face off for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam, the two put their differences aside and took time to entertain the live crowd after teaming up to take down Gunther and Sami Zayn in the main event.
Comical Celebration Ends The Night
The big match at Dignity Health Arena saw CM Punk and Cody Rhodes take on Gunther and Sami Zayn in a high-profile tag team spectacle. The exciting contest saw the two rivals tag in and out of the match several times before ultimately Punk and Rhodes celebrated their victory over the champions. It was after this celebration that fans caught on camera Danhausen in between Punk and Rhodes as both wrestlers surprise the referee by kissing him on the lips. This has since become a huge moment for fans as it went viral on social media, with those in attendance at the Bakersfield arena leaving the building with smiles on their faces.
Another Spectacular Finish For Danhausen
It wasn’t the first time Danhausen has had a comical ending at a live event this weekend either. Last night in Stockton, California, the referee found himself in the ring with Punk, Rhodes, Gunther, and Sami Zayn after another victory over the champions. Instead of celebrating the win, Punk and Rhodes were about to come to blows until Danhausen stopped them. He then ended the commotion by raising both Superstars’ hands, much to the delight of the fans in attendance.
Danhausen also had another impressive showing last night in Bakersfield, defeating The Miz before his big showdown on Sunday. The referee has had a spectacular run in the weeks leading up to SummerSlam, and it looks set to continue next week when he faces off against AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio. The match is expected to see the two men battle over the money Danhausen stole from The Judgment Day, with Dominik set to make his WWE debut at the “Summer of Violence” PPV.
SummerSlam Rematch Set To Happen
The rivalry between Punk and Rhodes is expected to headline the latest chapter of WWE’s “Summer of Violence” brand, with the two set to face off for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a highly anticipated singles match. Punk, the current Undisputed WWE Champion, will defend the gold against Cody Rhodes for the first time in nearly two decades on August 1. As the two rivals prepare to battle in one of the most hotly contested championship matches in recent memory, Danhausen is also set to make his appearance, with his big match against Dominik Mysterio also set to steal the show.
