At the end of last week, Ava Raine, who is the daughter of a WWE legend Dwayne Johnson, the so-called The Rock, confirmed her departure. On January 30, 24 years old, the announced her six-year WWE history is over and she is not going to renew the contract.
Surprising WWE Exit

This was a shock to a lot of fans, and all the more so since Raine had been on the NXT programming only a few days prior. In her WWE tenure, she had six matches to wrestle and became the first fourth generation Superstar to be signed into the business. Even with her achievements, Raine has resolved that it was time to venture into other areas beyond professional wrestling.

Raine has shared on Instagram that his final participation on NXT and, later, WWE was on this past Tuesday. Thank you to everyone who has cheered, watched and supported me on my way. Although the choice not to renew my contract was extremely hard, it is a new beginning of my life as well. To be Ava has been a honour and a privilege.
Decision Driven By Choice
Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer reported that Raine’s decision was personal, explaining, “I’ve talked to and heard from several people and the general thing was just she didn’t want to do it anymore. There was no compelling reason. It was just one of those things where her parents own a studio, and they thought that she’s probably going to end up working there. She doesn’t have to do it.”
Reports also suggested that Raine’s partner, Tatyanna Dumas, being released by WWE may have influenced her choice. Sources noted, “They weren’t quite saying that’s why she quit, but it was something that people put one and one together that maybe that had something to do with it.”
WWE released a statement accepting what Raine had done: WWE is grateful and appreciates the fantastic action of Simone Garcia Johnson as Ava and even more. Her impact, her dedication and her passion were experienced in the whole NXT and WWE world. We hope she has the best in all her future undertaking.
