The New Day has become one of the most successful factions in WWE history, but their rise was far from easy. Big E recently reflected on the group’s early struggles and eventual triumph during an appearance on K&C Masterpiece. His remarks provided a refreshing perspective on ways the three might have been so close to not becoming legends.

The Members of WWEs Popular Tag Team The New Day

The New Day has enjoyed success both as good and evil over the last ten years. Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E helped in rebranding the concept of tag team wrestling. The WrestleMania were some of their highlights, as well as record title-reigns. However, success was never guaranteed in the beginning.

Early Backstage Doubts

While speaking about the group’s formation, Big E recalled backstage skepticism and resistance. He shared a story involving Big Show that left a lasting impression. “It was such a roller coaster ride. You know, getting the idea off the ground took us so long, and it was so difficult, and there were so many no’s, so many people backstage who laughed at us, and we tell this story often, Big Show pulling Kofi aside in front of us, in front of me and Woods, and saying, ‘what are you doing with these guys? You’re wasting your time’. He wasn’t joking, and I mentioned Big Show. There are other people I won’t name.”

Big E noted that Big Show later apologized and admitted he was wrong. That moment only strengthened the group’s resolve. The trio committed to succeeding on their own terms, even if failure followed. That belief eventually paid off.

Success Beyond Expectations

The New Day would continue to attain heights few people would have thought possible. Big E cited the events such as KofiMania, Hell in a Cell and being the highest merchandise sellers in 2016. He was also thankful in retrospect about his career. Big E, who is currently doing commentary, denied that he had any regrets. He insisted that we should take pleasure in the process and that we must be able to notice special moments in the moment.

Reflectively, according to Big E, his WWE experience was an occasion full of happiness, travel, and memorable moments around the world. To him the legacy of The New Day is a testimony that doubt is overcome by persistence and belief.
