The future of Chris Jericho is once again a big debate even in the world of wrestling and Jim Ross has also brought fresh insight to the argument. In his Grilling JR podcast, the WWE Hall of Fame announcer expressed his opinion that Jericho will probably enjoy a full-circle career in WWE. Ross ensured that in case Jericho is going on a single last-run, WWE is the natural choice.
Jericho Future Speculation
After AEW programming Jericho has not appeared since April 2025, which has not been missed by fans. This has been only speculated by his presence online. It has also been reported that the contract of Jericho AEW has expired at the end of last year. No official announcement has been made and so the silence has brought increased belief that a major move might soon follow.
Jericho’s AEW Influence
Ross admitted that Jericho left a lasting impact in AEW and highly praised his behind-the-scenes contributions. He observed that Jericho contributed significantly towards nurturing young talent and selling creative ideas at the incubation period of the company. Ross has clarified that the value of Jericho was way beyond what people could watch on the television.
WWE Natural Destination
In spite of such respect, Ross discussed the reasons why WWE would be the most rational choice, in case Jericho will leave. He pointed out that a comeback elsewhere would not be on the same level or history as the career of Jericho. Ross indicated that WWE is where Jericho carved a lot of his history and where his work was initially introduced to a world audience.

Ross also stated that he would like to see Jericho continue working with AEW himself. Nevertheless, he also understood that Jericho also works with a certain freedom that not many wrestlers obtain ever. According to Ross that flexibility places Jericho in a position to decide how he wishes to end.
As the Royal Rumble nears, there is more speculation. Fans are asking openly questions about whether Jericho would come back as a surprise or not. Although not proven, the remarks made by Ross have reinforced the opinion that in case Jericho enters into a ring in the future, it could be under the WWE lights.
