Kevin Nash Speculates on the possible move by AJ Styles to AEW.
Kevin Nash has just talked on the future of AJ Styles, after there was a rumor that the former WWE wrestler might move to AEW after his retirement match at the Royal Rumble. Nash talked about the possibility of the career of Styles being not over yet, how AEW would be an attractive place where the so-called Phenomenal One could work.
Is AJ Styles Worn Out of WWE?
When AJ Styles lost to Gunther in Royal Rumble, many of his fans thought that this might be an indication of his leaving WWE. But Nash does not think that Styles is going to retire his boots too soon.
“I wouldn’t imagine that. He’s too young. I think there’s a couple of cool things that I think he wants to do,” Nash said. “I would imagine he would want to do something — this is just me. He might want to get just a crazy fking payday and go to AEW for fking a year.”
The Allure of AEW for AJ Styles
Nash believes that AEW is a lucrative platform to AJ Styles, particularly in view of new matches and the lucrative compensation that the firm may bring. Having such a roster as Kenny Omega or Will Ospreay, Nash feels Styles has the potential to flourish under the only environment in which AEW functions.
“There’s some really great — I mean, you got Kenny [Omega] over there, you got Will [Ospreay], you got some people that he could go over there and have some f**king feuds with,” Nash explained.
The Hybrid Style of AJ Styles in AEW
Nash also noticed that the in-ring style of AJ Styles is not similar to the high-flying and fast-paced style commonly featured in AEW. Nevertheless, in his opinion, this would result in an interesting and original combination of styles.
“AJ is not going to work — like his style is in between theirs. So that I think it would bring like a really kind of a cool hybrid style match,” Nash said. “AJ going over there would make me watch it.”
Kevin Nash’s Appreciation for AJ Styles’ Work
Nash also admitted that he likes AJ Styles as he has long been a fan of the wrestlers work. He pointed out the fact that Styles has always provided excellent matches and the thrill of watching him fight other AEW talents.
“I’m a huge fan of AJ’s work. I’ve never seen him have a bad match,” Nash said. “And to see him with Ospreay and fking Kenny? Fk. And I mean, I know there’s other guys that they’ve got over there that I’m not [familiar with]. But I’m just talking about guys that I f**king have watched.”
Nash concluded by noting that although AEW’s other wrestlers might be mimicking the styles of Omega and Ospreay, there’s no denying the unique flow and psychology that these top talents bring to their matches.
