Liv Morgan Targets First Royal Rumble Win Ahead of Weekend Showdown

Liv Morgan holds the WWE Women’s Championship while addressing the crowd inside a packed arena.

Liv Morgan believes the upcoming Royal Rumble could mark a defining moment in her WWE career. After years of close calls and memorable performances, the former SmackDown Women’s Champion says she feels ready to finally win the match for the first time this weekend. That assurance of Morgan’s comes from a great deal of experience in one of the most unpredictable types of matches there is in WWE.

Eight Rumble Journeys

Morgan has appeared in eight Women’s Royal Rumble matches since WWE launched the match back in 2018. In that time, she has experienced pretty much every possible result. She has led from the start to finish. She’s also out in record time. In 2023, Morgan was the number one entrant and lasted until the final moments, where she was eliminated last by winner Rhea Ripley. She came back to compete in 2024 but couldn’t win it.”

Confidence Ahead of Rumble

Appearing on ESPN SportsCenter earlier this week, Morgan says it feels different this year. She expressed both confidence and motivation as she looks to finally secure the elusive win. “I’m excited to finally win it. You know, I’ve been in eight of these, like you just said. I’ve started this match. I’ve ended this match. I’ve had the record for the shortest time in this match. I’ve also held the joint record for longest time on this bout. I have been runner-up twice, so this year it will be nice to actually win.”
Morgan also addressed her preferred entry number, revealing a strategic shift in her thinking. In past years, she embraced the challenge of early entry spots. This time, she is aiming for the most advantageous position possible.

Strategy for Victory

“I think strategically you want to be in that match very last. You want to come in at number 30. You are the freshest. Everyone else is eliminated or highly fatigued from being in this match. So you want to come in last and have the highest chance of pulling it out. So we’ll see. It’s random. So we’ll see. We’ll see where I land this year.”

As the Royal Rumble approaches, Morgan’s comments have fueled speculation about whether this could finally be her breakthrough moment on WWE’s biggest winter stage.
