MJF reveals that he was star struck by Eminem.
The World Champion of AEW, MJF, has given an account of the only time in his life that he experienced star-struck-ness. The Salt of the Earth talked about many issues in a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, such as his rivalry with CM Punk, his appearance on the Rosie O’Donnell Show and his role in Happy Gilmore 2. However, there was one moment that MJF remembers best–the encounter with the famous rapper Eminem.
MJF Reminisces about his meeting with Eminem.
In the interview, MJF remembered that he had a chance to share the screen with Eminem in Happy Gilmore 2. He even made jokes of how he had beat the shaft out of Eminem when they were together. MJF explained the situation, stating that Eminem came to the set with a very large crew, likely 10-15 dudes, all gigantic in size, in the same style of Luchasaurus in AEW.
Nevertheless, regardless of how intense the scene was, it was clear that MJF admired Eminem. He confessed that this experience with one of the best rappers of all times left him star-stricken. I would suppose that it is no more so than when a wrestling fan may happen to spot me out and about. It was one of the only instances in my life that I was star struck when I was next to what is arguably one of the biggest rappers of all time, MJF admitted.
Into Happy Gilmore 2, by MJF.
MJF had auditioned to play an alternative part in Happy Gilmore 2 before he was hired to work on the set with Eminem. He had hoped to play the role of the mean golfer, which would have seen him in the same role with that of Becky Lynch. Nevertheless, Adam Sandler liked the performance of MJF and cast him in the part of his son instead, which turned out to be a significant milestone in the career of the young wrestler.
The Importance of this Moment to MJF.
The fact that MJF admits that he was star-struck is a great point in his career. Although he has the large-than-life image in the world of wrestling, he nonetheless feels awe and excitement when offered the presence of those he admires. The meeting with Eminem is a unique insight into the lesser side of MJF, who demonstrated that even the most self-assured people might experience the feeling of awe at the moment of meeting their idols.
It is also a prompt of the crossover of wrestling with other entertainment. MJF and Happy Gilmore 2, and the exchange between the two, demonstrate the expanded role of wrestling stars in popular media and the impact that they are increasing outside of the squared circle.
