Green Defends Title In Chaotic Bout
Chelsea Green is the winner of Nia Jax’s Women’s United States Championship bout on SmackDown in Mexico. It was her first title bout after going through a wild affair that was marked by a lot of outside pressure that constantly turned the tide. At six minutes and seventeen seconds Green would finally pick up the pinfall with a Unpretti-Her.
Outside Interference Shapes Crucial Turn
The champion’s signature mask was a big help when Jax took it off her face during the match. But the turning point took place at ringside. Tiffany Stratton skillfully blocked a punch from Lash Legend. The ensuing ruckus gave Green the opportunity to throw Legend’s tail into the ring post. Jax then failed to execute her Annihilator move. That provided Green enough time to get her mask and execute a career-killing top-rope head butt and then complete the contest.
Resilience Fuels Champion Against Jax
Having survived physical setbacks, a big part of Green‘s identity is her ability to bounce back from them. In clear language she showed this robust spirit earlier this year when she said, “No broken bones are going to keep me down ever.” Jax was a formidable opponent to face, and would have to be met at some time, when the right moment was right.
Controversial Finish Sets Up Rematch
With the controversial end, Green continues to fight for his reign while Jax has a valid complaint. Both Stratton and Legend were significant factors. That makes it an easy platform for WWE to make a future matchup. Green wasn’t able to dominate Jax. But when things went haywire she was able to adapt much better.
New Rivalries Emerge From Chaos
There are a number of possible new rivalries that can be spawned from this one finish. Stratton and Legend will get to clash on their own. Meanwhile, however, Jax remains in the picture of the championship in real time. Surviving this major test, Green knows that her chaotic rule is not over.
