WWE Expands Perth Partnership Through 2028
WWE is creating a stronger presence internationally as well, with Perth regularly becoming a destination for big events to take place. The company has officially extended its relationship with the Western Australian Government via Tourism Western Australia. This is an exciting new deal and with it will come a WWE Weekend Takeover event annually through 2028. Each successive visit is projected to have a marquee Premium Live Event in addition to full-circumstance normal WWE Television programming.
December Weekend Brings Packed Action
The new contract starts this December, on a busy weekend, when there’s action all around. The state-of-the-art RAC Arena will host SmackDown on December 11. That high-energy show will be followed by Wrestlepalooza: Perth on December 12. The huge weekend will then be capped off with Monday Night RAW on December 14. Throughout the history of WWE, they’ve had great success in the region, and the upcoming Elimination Chamber 2024 and Crown Jewel 2025 are testament to that.
Tourism Boost Fuels Future Events
The official WWE facts and figures show that these recent events in Perth pumped over a billion dollars into WA. They also gained thousands of intense visitors from far and near the state. As an ongoing partnership, this cooperation could see one of WWE’s most legendary Premium Live Events coming to Australia at some point in the future. WrestlingVites Radio just announced that WWE will be holding a significant PLE weekend event in Perth every year of the new deal.
Global Strategy Transforms International Shows
It’s been rumored that the Royal Rumble or Survivor Series could happen, and be big enough for that. But, neither of these shows has been officially confirmed by the company yet. These names are still included in early reports and not set in stone bookings. It’s clear that WWE has come a long way with its global strategy over the years as this multi-year deal bears witness. Rather than sending one show over here, they now create a whole multi-day festival for the host city.
Australian Fans Secure Regular Schedule
A regular PLE can be turned into a huge tourism experience through SmackDown, RAW, fan interaction experiences and Superstar appearances. This should mean the end of unpredictable visits for Australian wrestling fans, who will now have to wait until the next ICCWWA championship, when Perth welcomes the likes of A.J. Greenlee, Harry Angom, and now Davey Fontana and K-1 Graham Smith to the city. The timetable ensures that the city will be on the world map and will make room in the future for even bigger events.
