Roman Reigns Faces Overrated Debate
Roman Reigns is back in the thick of it again. The latest issue regarding the WWE World Heavyweight Champion sees him being accused of being overrated. The issue began when various wrestling stars began speaking out on the matter. AEW Superstar Adam Copeland has since joined the discussion, with the former Edge having first-hand experience with Reigns in the ring.
Adam Copeland Praises Roman Reigns
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Copeland reflected on the experience and the chemistry he had with the Tribal Chief. He was asked about Reigns and the controversy surrounding him, as Copeland admitted that he had an incredibly positive experience with the star. The Hall of Famer said that Reigns is an “easy, fun, and good” partner to work with, adding that Roman had found the right “voice” to work with.
Copeland Explains His Reigns View

When asked if Reigns is overrated, Copeland took it upon himself to explain it in his own way, refusing to give a direct answer. The former World Heavyweight Champion stated that it is up to the fans to decide, as there is an element of subjectivity to these arguments. Copeland knows firsthand what it is like to be involved in a controversial feud – and Reigns has recently had a share of those.
Roman Reigns Draws More Criticism
The two superstars had a share of one-on-one clashes during Copeland’s second stint in WWE. The two faced each other in a Universal Championship match at Money in the Bank 2021, as well as the WrestleMania 37 main event with Daniel Bryan. Speaking on the criticism directed at Reigns, Copeland expressed his understanding of why it was happening. The former WWE Champion noted that even the “greatest” of all time, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, had been accused of the same.
Solo Sikoa Turns Against Reigns
Another figure who has had a share of criticism regarding Reigns is Dutch Mantell. Mantell reflected on his time in WWE, admitting that he had initially questioned the decision to put Reigns in the company. His opinion of Roman changed, however, after he began turning faces in the ring. With Reigns set to face his own Tribal Chief in a rematch on RAW, the issue has been far from settled. Solo Sikoa seemingly acknowledged Roman as the leader of the Bloodline before staking him with a Samoan Spike and siding with LA Knight.
